Vladislav Dvoyris - course in Tallinn
The course will explain basic concepts in artificial intelligence and machine learning, along with their possible applications in clinical practice.

About the course

How the course will be conducted and what you will learn
Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) are among the hottest buzzwords today in every field of information technology, affecting every aspect of our lives – the devices we use, the cars we drive, and the content we consume. Medicine and dentistry have not been left behind, and systems incorporating AI components are already available on the market, allowing every dentist to improve the identification of common radiographic findings, make a more thorough and detailed diagnosis, while standardizing the interpretation of images, reducing discrepancies between different doctors, and preventing oversights and errors.
In the hands-on, we will focus on the common uses of AI today in the field of dentistry - in diagnosis, treatment planning, and creation of a "virtual patient"; we will examine various AI tools available in the global market today; and we will answer, with the help of studies from around the world, the question: Is dental AI mature enough to serve as an independent diagnostic tool, or should the doctor use it as a decision support system, taking into account the medico-legl aspects of using AI - for better or worse.

In the course, basic concepts of AI and ML will be explained, together with their current and possible uses in the daily practice. AI-assisted diagnostic and visualisation modalities for CBCT, OPG, and full-mouth intraoral series will be thoroughly presented using real-life clinical cases.
